JOY TO THE WORLD

Joy to the world
As the one who brought illumination
Created all of creation
Reigns over all of the nations
Has come

After the Genesis of creation
He foretold his own genesis
Knew himself before he was formed in his mothers womb

Carried in his mothers womb
While holding the whole world and the multitude of cosmos in his hands
He was born among horses, donkeys and sheep
With no crib for a bed but a manger to sleep
And the vastness of the galaxies spelt out Yahweh
When a star shown so bright it made day of night

Came as a Son
Born from his Mom
Mary and Joseph honored with the responsibility of calling him their son
The stars couldn’t keep still but rise to the birth of a King
And all the angels did sing
Men took all they could bring

Joy to the World as a Savior was born
Reconciled us with the Father
Now we can go before him and say ‘Abba’
And gaze in his beauty and splendor

Joy to the World for a Healer was born
The connection between man and sickness was torn
When he uttered ‘By my stripes you’re healed’

Joy to the World as a Wonderful Counselor was born
Qualified in ways no human counselor is
An amazing adviser giving guidance to his people

Joy to the world for a friend was born
The kind that sticks closer than a brother
The kind that never leaves
The kind that watches over you as you sleep
So even as we celebrate all that this day brings
Would you remember the reason for the season?
Would you remember the light of the world?
Would you remember the Joy to the world?
The gift that keeps giving
To the tiniest particle of air, you are still breathing
Joy to the world
Joy to you
Joy to me
